A downloadable tool for Windows

Add a little farming to your stream!

This twitch tool will watch and water crops every time a user follows! If used with the accompanying Stardew mod, every time a crop reaches maturity it is added to your inventory in real time.

How to use:

After unzipping the file, click StardewTwitchTracker.exe to get started.

Enter the twitch ID of the channel you want to monitor.  If you don't know the ID, there are many tools and browser extensions online where you can enter the username and retrieve the ID. Like here!

Once the UI loads, you can chroma key the background and add it to your stream.

There is a known issue with the UI! It cannot be minimized as it will not register graphical changes. It has to stay open on a monitor. This is an engine limitation and I am currently trying to find a way to fix it.

** If the tool is not working with the mod, it could be your anti-virus! Be sure to add StardewTwitchTracker.exe and StardewTwitchTrackerUI.exe to the exceptions list!

You can download the Stardew Valley mod at the provided link or here!

hello! i apologize for the bother! i was not able to get this working on my stream despite double-checking my antivirus and firewall settings. i can provide any files you might need to debug, or another account to contact. thanks!

Never a bother! Thank you for being interested!

If I may ask a few things to follow up, I'd like to work on this so that it works for you.

Did you get any errors, or did it just fail to work when someone followed? Or did the graphics interface fail to load?

EDIT: I just saw your post on Nexus, so I just edited out asking if you downloaded the mod lol

It failed to do anything when someone followed! The interface opened up fine after I pasted my channel ID into the app window. It says “Listening for follows…” and then never says anything else, and nothing changes on the interface when someone follows.

From looking at other twitch-integrated mods on Nexus, it looks like usually I have to provide some kind of authentication from Twitch in order for the API calls to work? Like this one asks for my username and OAuth token: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/17321/ while this one requires an application client ID: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1760

Hopefully that’s helpful! Also I noticed that there is a crops.txt file but it’s blank no matter what happens.

EDIT: I found out from another tool that I use that Twitch apparently recently changed its follow API?

Looking into it now, yes...

It didn't require authentication in order to track follows as that is all the interaction this tool has with Twitch. It looks like the new updates have broken this!

I'm really sorry that it only happened once you had everything set up.

I'm going to hide this tool for now until I can fix it. I'll got through it over the weekend and see if I can get it running again!

Once again, I'm sorry for the trouble!

No need to apologize at all! I think it's a really clever idea and I'm grateful that you put all the effort into creating it! Will patiently await updates ^^
